A day at Ardbeck

Yesterday the Fernielea folk were invited to a BBQ at Ardbeck. We had a great time, swimming in the pool, playing sports, and singing later on.

Helena enjoying the pool.

Lois went for her first run with a boy!!!

Andrew fancies getting on the move too.

We really enjoyed the BBQ.
Thanks to Jim and Gillian for a lovely afternoon and evening.

Grow your own Garden

We've been bit by the "Grow your own" bug. Bogi made a lovely raised bed for Senga to grow some veggies in. David and Mark came with soil which was mixed with some of Sandy's mushroom compost. Senga has now sown carrots, peas, lettuce, spring onion and a little herb garden. A great team effort.

Lois and Helena have joined in too. They each have their own square metre garden where they have sown sunflowers, cornflowers, calendula and nasturtiums.

The young shoots are well through now and in need of thinning.

And we must not forget Babba's potato patch down the side of the house. The shows came through this week and are taking off like mad so Bogi's been out earthing up. I think he's really glad they're just outside the sitting room window as he can sit and look at them rain or shine. No tatties have been loved more :)

What a peerie darling wir new peerie niece and cousin is. We were so glad we could see her before the family went back home.

(Oh dear - how does Garry do it!)

Noah

We really enjoyed seeing Noah for a few weeks while he waited for his peerie sister to arrive. He came to school sports with us. The peerie boy cousins enjoyed getting to know each other.

School Sports

Lois really enjoyed the Nursery sports day. She did really well.

Helena also really enjoyed her sports day, which finally went ahead after being postponed 3 times due to rain! The theme was Scotland's homecoming. Lots of tartan and highland games. Below Helena is tossing the caber.

The Fernielea Outing

We rounded off the day with high tea at Castle Huntly. Very nice! One of the guests private helicopters was parked outside! We're going upmarket!

A lovely day was had by all and we thank Alison and Colin very much for all their effort in organising the day. Looking forward to next year!

Fernielea at Elgin

The folks at Fernielea went to Elgin this year for our day out. We had a nice bus journey up, with a break at Baxters for some fine pieces. We then had a picnic at Cooper's Park, followed by football, boating on the pond and fun in the play park.

Beth, Eddie and Andy enjoying the glorious sunshine.

Andrew is 8 months

Andrew has now passed 8 months and is desperate to get on the move. He still looks just like Bogi - so everyone tells me!

Sunny Spring

We've had very good weather this spring.

Helena is really enjoying the climbing frame - more room for it here.

Babba is the first to break the turf - he's planting tatties in this patch.

Our first lunch in the garden.
